WWE Icon Hulk Hogan Died On July 24 At The Age Of 71

In the wake of Hulk Hogan’s death on July 24, fans are expressing their disbelief in the comments section of the last post he ever shared on social media.

According to a report from TMZ, medics were dispatched to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida, on Thursday morning. Operators responded to a report of “cardiac arrest” at the residence.

Law enforcement officers who spoke with TMZ told the outlet that the Clearwater Fire & Rescue team responded to the call at 9:51 AM. These officers said Hogan received medical treatment at his home before he was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Hogan’s family confirmed the news of his passing in a statement published on his official social media pages:

“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend.
Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones. At this time of grief, we ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and friends May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades. He will be missed, but never forgotten.”

Clearwater Police Maj. Nate Burnside spoke about Hogan’s death during a press conference on Thursday afternoon. He confirmed that Hogan passed away at 11:17 AM, adding there were “no signs of foul play or suspicious activity.”

Hogan had been open about his health struggles over the last few years of his life. Those health issues led him to retire from wrestling in 2012. He had over 25 surgeries, including 10 back surgeries.

He underwent neck surgery in May. In June, Us Weekly reported “a source” close to Hogan informed them he “had pretty serious heart surgery” a few weeks prior. But this report remains unconfirmed.

Fans Mourn Hulk Hogan’s Death On His Last Social Media Post

Despite his health issues, Hulk Hogan remained active on social media, sharing his last post just one day before his death. On July 23, he and his beer brand, Real American Beer, shared a joint Instagram post.

The post featured a photo of a beach towel that depicted Hulk holding a can of Real American Beer. He wore a yellow tank top that read “Hulk Rules” in bright red letters. The image’s caption read, “Beach day sponsored by brotherhood.”

Real American Beer and the WWE just struck a multi-year partnership earlier this year (2025). Speaking of the partnership, Hogan said:

“Well, let me tell you something brother! From the first time I stepped into the ring, I’ve always fought for something bigger than myself. I’m thrilled to bring Real American Beer into the ring with WWE. Together, we’re bringing that pride to America, one beer, one match at a time, brother!”

Many of Hogan’s social media postings were about or featured Real American Beer. So it seems fitting that his final post celebrated the brand he was so proud of.

After news broke about Hogan’s death, his fans shared their shock in the comments of his last postSome of those messages were:

“[Does] anyone knows the reason??????? Shocking news.”

“Still trying to believe this is real… Hulk Hogan wasn’t just a wrestler — he was a childhood hero, a larger-than-life icon who made us believe in strength, loyalty, and saying our prayers.”

“Fly high BROTHER.”

“RIP BROTHER!! A TRUE LEGEND!!”

“Have loved you since the 1980’s. Always wanted to meet you. Absolute legend.”

“Rest easy brother!! Grew up watching you Hulk. You were the best to do it.”

“Hulkamania is gonna run so wild in Heaven.”
