President Donald Trump is considering the option to “federalize” Washington, D.C., following a series of violent crimes that have shaken the nation’s capital.
On Tuesday, one of his former aides was assaulted: A member of the DOGE team, referred to by the moniker “Big Balls,” was attacked. The president utilized his social media platform, Truth Social, to articulate the reasons behind the urgent measures being implemented to restore order in the crime-plagued city.
“Crime in Washington, D.C., is completely out of control. Local ‘youths’ and gang members, some as young as 14, 15, and 16 years old, are indiscriminately attacking, robbing, injuring, and shooting innocent citizens, fully aware that they will likely be released almost immediately,” he stated.
“They lack fear of law enforcement because they understand that there are no consequences for their actions, but that is about to change!” he added. “The laws in D.C. must be amended to allow for the prosecution of these ‘minors’ as adults, and they should be incarcerated for extended periods, starting at age 14. The latest victim was brutally beaten by local criminals.”
“Washington, D.C., must be safe, clean, and appealing for all Americans and, crucially, for the world to witness,” he emphasized. “If D.C. does not rectify its issues promptly, we will have no alternative but to assume federal control of the city, manage it appropriately, and inform criminals that they will no longer evade justice.”
“This action may have been necessary long ago; had it been taken, this remarkable young man, along with countless others, would not have endured the traumas of violent crime,” he concluded. “If this situation persists, I will exercise my authority and federalize this city. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
Former DOGE leader Elon Musk reiterated President Trump’s statement, mentioning that, “A few days ago, a group of approximately twelve young men attempted to assault a woman in her vehicle at night in DC.” He further noted that a DOGE member “observed the situation, rushed to her aid, and was severely beaten to the extent of sustaining a concussion, yet he managed to save her. It is time to federalize DC.”
Trump also communicated to reporters that the former DOGE employee was “very badly hurt last night.”
He additionally remarked, “A young man who was assaulted by a group of thugs in DC. They will either need to amend their behavior … or we will have to federalize and manage it as it should be managed.”
